This support spindle has a bit more weight - it uses Morado (Rosewood) as the shaft which is a high density hardwood - the feel of it has more heft in the axis like a russian spindle but with lots of inertia due to the whorl's shape.
It has a long spin time.
The whorl's shape and copper inlay helps with the weight distribution and the inertia.
